In 1887 Wood became a partner in the law firm of Williams Ach & Wood, the firm established as Durham & Ball in 1870. His son, Erskine, joined him in the practice in 1912 and his grandson, Erskine B., joined the firm in 1936. The firm continues today as Wood Tatum and is Oregon's oldest law firm.
