Wood Tatum is recognized as the oldest law firm in the state of Oregon, having been established originally as Durham & Ball in 1870. The firm has been a leading member of Oregon's legal community since that time, concentrating in all areas of maritime law for over 75 years. The firm's former partners have included three generations of Wood family lawyers, from C.E.S. Wood, who joined the firm in 1887, up through his grandson, Erskine B. Wood, who practiced with the firm until 1986. The firm presently consists of three partners who specialize in various aspects of maritime law and trial practice as well as general civil litigation, small business and estate planning & probate.
